MATES Consulting Pty Ltd is an Australian based organisation dedicated to the conduct of research, development, organisation  capacity building, training and evaluation projects in the Asia Pacific region. The company has an international reputation in the areas of mobility, appropriate technology, education and skills. A major focus of our work is on the assessment and development of policy responses to critical issues in these areas.

The Director, Associate Professor Robyn Iredale brings a strong human rights and gender focus to all of the organisation’s work.

To date, projects have been carried out in the following countries: Australia; Brunei Darussalam, Cambodia; Canada; China; Cook Islands; Fiji; India; Indonesia; Lao PDR; Malaysia; Mongolia; Mozambique; Myanmar; New Zealand; the Philippines; Singapore; Thailand; USA; Vanuatu and Vietnam. Contracting agencies have included AusAID; APEC; IOM; ILO; UNCTAD; UNDP and UNESCO.

Most projects are conducted by teams of expert associates who are specifically selected to suit  individual  projects and client needs.Our commitment is to work closely with in-country counterparts in all development projects.  This ensures maximum  skills transfer and sustainable, long-term capacity building.
